GREENVILLE, N.C. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Arizona State sophomore starting pitcher Pat Bresnehan and junior reliever Brett Bordes combined on a six-hit shutout in leading the Sun Devils to a 3-0 victory over Ohio State in the final day of the Keith LeClair Classic at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

The Sun Devils extended their season high winning streak to three games to improve to 11-10 overall and have won five of their last six games. Ohio State fell to 2-3 on the season and 2-9 all-time against the Sun Devils.

Bresnehan (Sherborn, Mass.) scattered five hits in six shutout innings to earn the victory and improve to 1-1 on the season. Bordes (Mesa, Ariz.) gave up one hit over the final three innings to seal the win and earn his first save of the year. Bordes combined with his fellow relievers (Jason Urquidez - 5.1 IP; Tony Barnette - 2.2 IP) as the ASU bullpen combined to not allow an earned run in 11.0 innings in the tournament.

Ohio State left-hander Dan DeLucia was solid in his first outing of the year giving up one run and seven hits in six innings. He took the loss to fall to 0-1 on the season.

ASU junior right fielder Travis Buck (Richland, Wash.) went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

OSU threatened to take the early lead loading the bases with two outs in the two outs in the top of the fourth inning, but freshman second baseman Greg Bordes (Mesa, Ariz.) made a diving stop and forced out the runner at second base to end the inning and save a pair of runs.

The Sun Devils broke the scoreless tie with a single tally in the bottom of the fifth inning. Freshman shortstop Andrew Romine (Lake Forest, Calif.) doubled down the right field line and scored on a two-out, bunt single by Buck.

After two flawless relief innings from Bordes, the Sun Devils scored a pair of insurance runs on a two-run single up the middle by freshman designated hitter Willy Fox (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Sophomore left fielder Colin Curtis (Issaquah, Wash.) and Gosewisch drew walks and advanced into scoring position on a double steal.

ASU returns to action next weekend with a pair of games each against No. 2 LSU and Western Illinois in Baton Rouge, La.

Game Notes: After ending Saturday's 10-3 win over East Carolina at 9:54 p.m., ASU's turnaround to this morning's game was just over 12 hours... senior catcher Tuffy Gosewisch threw out two of three attempted base stealers and has thrown out 13 on the season... junior right fielder Travis Buck extended his hitting streak to a season-high six games and notched his team-leading ninth multi-hit game of the year... the Sun Devils scored 13 of their 17 runs in the three-game tournament with two outs on the scoreboard... freshman designated hitter Willy Fox recorded his fourth multi-RBI game of the year and now has 11 RBI in five starts...
