The Arizona State University men's golf team is in first place with a two-stroke lead after the first round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship held in Las Vegas, Nev. Three Sun Devils are in the top-10 after 18 holes, with Jesse Mueller (1-under 71) leading the way for ASU as he is tied for seventh.
Alejandro Canizares and Niklas Lemke both shot even 72 and are tied for 10th. Pat Moore is tied for 19th (1-over 73) while Kendall Critchfield shot an 8-over 80 and is tied for 72nd.
ASU shot an even 288 and is two shots ahead of South Carolina (290) and UCLA (290). Oklahoma State (292) and Washington (293) round out the top five in the 15-team field.
The teams will play 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
