The victory also snapped a three-game losing streak to UCLA, all coming on the road at the Rose Bowl. ASU has now won the last three meetings against UCLA at Sun Devil Stadium (2004, 1999, 1995).
Walter Has Another Big Day: Senior QB Andrew Walter threw for a career-high six touchdowns on 25-for-51 passing for 415 yards. His six touchdowns are tied for second in the ASU single-game record books and with 76 career TD passes he is now one off the Pac-10 record of 77 set by NFL Hall of Fame QB John Elway (Stanford). Walter has recorded seven career games over 400 yards and three games with five or more TD passes.

Hagan Gets Back To 100: Junior wide receiver Derek Hagan had five catches for a team-high 160 yards and a career-high-tying three TD's. Hagan recorded his fourth 100-yard game of the season and the 10th of his career. His 79-yard TD was the second longest of his career, second only to an 80-yarder last season against Arizona (11/28/03). He has now caught 45 passes for 695 yards this season and eight TD's. Hagan now has three multi-TD games this season and four in his career.
Long TD Strikes: Andrew Walter connected with Derek Hagan on a 79-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a game-winning 65-yard touchdown to Terry Richardson in the fourth quarter. Each scoring play surpasses ASU's previous season high for a scoring play. Walter now has thrown eight TD's of 60 or more yards and four of 70 or more yards.
Jones To The Rescue: Redshirt freshman Preston Jones rushed for a team-high 69 yards on 16 carries (4.3 avg.) to lead the Sun Devils ground attack. Jones, a walk-on, started the season as ASU's fifth-string tailback. Jones' career-high 29-yard scamper in the first quarter was ASU's second longest run from scrimmage this season. Redshirt freshman Rudy Burgess was second with 41 yards on nine carries (4.6 avg.).
Defensive Leaders: Junior linebacker Jamar Williams led the Sun Devils with 10 tackles, but it was a combined defensive effort that helped lead ASU to the 48-42 victory over the Bruins. Nine Sun Devils recorded five or more tackles, including Emmanuel Franklin (5), Jordan Hill (6), Chris McKenzie (6), Dale Robinson (7), Justin Burks (8), Jimmy Verdon (8), Josh Golden (9) and Maurice London (9).
Pick Pocket: The Sun Devils tied a season high with four interceptions. ASU also had four picks in the season opening victory over UTEP. Senior safety Emmanuel Franklin recorded his team-leading third and fourth INT's of the season and now has five in his career. The two INT's mark the second time this year for Franklin and third time this season that a Sun Devil has recorded two INT's in a single game. Senior linebacker Justin Burks and junior linebacker Dale Robinson each recorded their first career interceptions in the contest. Robinson's fourth-quarter INT helped setup the final scoring drive to seal the victory.
