USC Coach Pete Carroll
"This was a terrific day for us to get what we wanted to get done. We've beat two good teams back-to-back, but we came in with a great deal of respect for ASU. I'm proud of how we played on offense. Matt mixed the ball around, especially to Dwayne. It was exciting to see Dominique Byrd out there making plays. Overall, it was a huge day at the Coliseum. We love it, and it showed.
(On the gameplan)
"We went right back to the fundamentals and right back to the basics today. We love seeing that stuff go. Our coaches and our players take great pride in it.
(On if any freshman receiver had ever done what Dwayne Jarrett did today)
"Yeah, a couple years ago, we had a guy who could do a few things. Dwayne right now is getting over the hump. He's not just out there competing, he's making plays. He's a fantastic player. With Steve's loss, we had to go to him and he made some great plays for us today.
(On Leinart's performance)
"He knows how the game works. He did a great job moving the ball around. He's the leader of this team, no doubt about it.
USC QB Matt Leinart
"We had a good week of practice this week. Today was a sign of what we could do with a good game plan. We wanted a lot of one-on-one coverage with our receivers and we exploited it.
(On WR Dwayne Jarrett)
"He was awesome. With Steve's loss still with us, it gave Dwayne a chance to be the go-to guy. I'm very proud of the way he stepped up and played today.
ASU Coach Dirk Koetter
"We didn't get tricked today, we got outplayed. If you look at the game, we got off to a horrendous start from a field position standpoint. We couldn't get anything going and when we got down 21-0, we couldn't answer the bell. At that point, I think a little doubt creeped in and you can't do that against a team like USC. I didn't think we would get totally stoned in the running game in the first half. We couldn't get two inches.
"This is an 11-game season. We can still have a good year. This one hurts. We can see why USC is the team that they are. As bad as we were today, there's still good things in store for this team.
ASU QB Andrew Walter
"I didn't expect this. I really don't have any answers. They didn't do an awful lot different than they had done all year. We just didn't adjust well enough in terms of reading their coverages.
ASU Center Drew Hodgdon
"We were very average in all phases-offense, defense and special teams. The advantage of a bye week is so that you can become familiar with what they do and we didn't capitalize.
