The Arizona State men's golf team is in second place after two rounds of the Club Glove Intercollegiate held at Saticoy Country Club in Somis, Calif.

The Sun Devils trail only host Pepperdine, as ASU fired an even 576 (293-283) while Pepperdine is at 3-under 573 (289-284). ASU's 283 in the second round was the best round of the tournament was a 10-stroke improvement from the opening 18 holes.

SMU and Coastal Carolina are currently tied for third with 3-over par scores of 579. UC Irvine is fifth at 4-over 580. The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Michael Putnam of Pepperdine, the defending tournament champion, opened play with a 5-under 67 and shot a 2-under 70 to post a 7-under par score of 137. Putnam holds a three-shot lead over Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares (75-65), SMU's Scott Abbott and UC Irvine's Jay Choe, who are all at 4-under 140.

Arizona State's Pat Moore is tied for fifth at 2-under 142 (71-71). Sun Devil senior Jesse Mueller is at 3-over 147 (74-73) and is tied for 24th along with Niklas Lemke (73-74). Kendall Critchfield, playing as an individual, is tied for 29th at 4-over 148 (77-71) while Phil Telliard is at 16-over 160 (78-82).
