TEMPE, Ariz. - UNLV scored twice in the first half en route to a 2-0 win over Arizona State in women's collegiate soccer action on Sunday afternoon from Peter Johann Field in Las Vegas, Nevada. The win was the sixth straight at home for UNLV, moving them to 7-2-2 on the season, while Arizona State fell to 4-6.

The Rebels' first score of the day came midway through the first half, as Annii Magliulo found Nickie Olson alone near the top of the box. Olson settled the pass and sent a blast to the top left corner of the goal, just over the hands of Sun Devil goalkeeper Kim Bingham for the 1-0 lead at the 24:08 mark. UNLV added to its lead right before the end of the half, when Lori Sakai's shot from the middle of the box was deflected by Bingham into an ASU defender on the goal line and into the net for a 2-0 Rebel edge at 44:02.

Arizona State turned up the offense in the second half, out-shooting UNLV 13-1, but the Rebel defense kept the majority of the shots to outside of the box. The Sun Devils held a 21-6 edge in shots for the game and a 9-2 advantage on corner kicks. Jenna Huff would finish the game with seven saves to earn the shutout, while Bingham finished with two goals allowed and no saves. Elizabeth Bogus and Brittany Cooper each had four shots

Up next, the Devils return home to begin Pac-10 play, hosting Washington on Friday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m.
