DURHAM, N.H. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- The Arizona State Volleyball team suffered its first setback of the young season in a three-set loss to Toledo Saturday morning in the second day of the Ocean National Bank Invitational hosted by the University of New Hampshire. Game scores were 23-30, 28-30, 29-31 in favor of the Rockets. The Sun Devils defeated Florida International in four sets Friday to start the season, but lost to Toledo (2-0) in straight sets to fall to 1-1 on the season. Second-year head coach Brad Saindon started an almost entirely new lineup from yesterday, including four freshmen. Sophomore outside hitter Nicole Morton (Bonsall, Calif.) led the Devils with 13 kills. Freshman opposite Kristin Trayser (Crystal Lake, Ill.) added nine kills and two blocks. Freshman setter Rachel Mittelstaedt (Phoenix, Ariz.) made her first career start and led the Sun Devils with 29 assists and also added three block assists. Freshman libero Sydney Donahue (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) led the Devils with 15 digs. Toledo had four players reach double figures in kills. Kate Bean had 17 kills on an efficient .333 attack percentage to lead the Rockets. Kelsey Culver (15 kills, 3 blocks), Corrie Magnus (12 kills, .400, 4 blocks) and Rachel Mohler (11 kills, 12 digs) also had solid performances for UT. Libero Lora Sarich led all players with 19 digs. ASU will complete tournament play against host New Hampshire tonight at 7 p.m. EST (4 p.m. PST). The Sun Devils will make their home debut next weekend when they host the annual Tempe Buttes Invitational at Wells Fargo Arena.
