TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona State junior varsity women's golf squad wrapped up a rain-shortened Saguaro Classic on Tuesday afternoon by finishing fifth (306-305=611, +51). The tournament was reduced to two days after rain suspended play on Monday. Freshman Lindsay Anderson (El Paso, Texas) finished in a tie for sixth at eight-over par (71-77=148) to lead ASU.
Junior Jamie Michaud (University Place, Wash) ended in a tie for 15th at 14-over (79-75=154) with redshirt freshman Danelle Perata (Vacaville, Calif.) behind her in a tie for 22nd at 17-over (80-77=157). Finishing fourth and fifth for the Sun Devils at the tournament were junior Nicole Deacon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) in a tie for 31st at 20-over (84-76=160) and senior Beatriz Conti (Caracas, Venezuela) in 34th at 22-over (76-86=162).
Alabama captured the team title with an effort of 29-over with NC State's Ashlee Dean claiming the individual crown at one-over par (69-72=141).
At the Wildcat Invitational, the Sun Devils' varsity squad finds themselves in seventh place at 52-over (312-305=617) with one round to go. Freshman Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) remains ASU's leader in a tie for 13th at seven-over par (72-77=149). Junior and fellow Gilbert native Erin Tone is in a tie for 24th at 11-over (79-74=153).
Arizona State's final three at the tournament are sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) in a tie for 40th with a total of 14-over (83-73=156), freshman Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) in a tie for 51st at 17-over (78-81=159) and junior Josefin Gustafsson (Falkoping, Sweden) in a tie for 69th at 29-over (87-84=171).
Vanderbilt holds the team lead at 11-over par (290-289=579) while the individual leaderboard features a three-way tie at the top with Vanderbilt's May Wood, Ohio State's Allison Hanna and Californis's Sophia Sheriden all at minus-two.
