T EMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State track and field team played host to the 24th Sun Angel Track Classic Saturday night at Sun Angel Stadium with many of the top collegiate programs and local talents on hand to compete. In the end, the most exciting race came down to the wire in the men's 4x400m relay, won by the Sun Devils.

In 3:04.44, the team of Seth Amoo, Lewis Banda, Jason Barton and Steve Fitch recorded the 10th-fastest time in ASU outdoor history as they held off a late charge from a talented Baylor squad that finished second at 3:04.68. The win kept the quartet's record perfect on the year, including the indoor season.

Joining the relay team in the record section of the ASU program, the women's 4x100 team ran a 44.27 to take over the No. 3 spot on the all-time list. In the field events, Sandra Orsund moved to No. 3 in the discus with a toss of 54.49 while Molly Clarke improved to No. 7 in the same event with a 47.77.

The 4x400m win for the men was the lone victory on the day for the Sun Devils as ASU compiled 10 regional marks on the track and another 12 in the field events. For the Pac-10 Championships, the Sun Devils managed to record 17 marks on the track and 10 in the field as the home season drew closer to a conclusion.

The Sun Devils return to action at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., April 17-19. Their next, and last, home meet is May 3 in the Double Dual with Arizona and Northern Arizona at Sun Angel Stadium.
