WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Betsy Boardman scored 11 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to lead Arizona State past Holy Cross 81-56 Saturday night at Holy Cross' Hart Center.

The victory snapped a 10-game road losing streak for the Sun Devils who notched their first road win since Jan. 11, 2003.

Arizona State took the lead and never let go early in the first half, going up 11-9 with 12:26 to play when sophomore guard YoVanna Rosenthal got a steal and layup. Later in the first half, the Sun Devils used a 13-3 run to go up 34-19 with 2:25 left in the half and led 40-21 at the break.

Arizona State shot a season-high 65.4 percent in the first half, knocking down 17-of-26 shots, and held Holy Cross without a field goal for the final 10:17 of the period. Junior guard Carrie Buckner led the team with eight points, six rebounds and four assists in the first half, while Rosenthal knocked down 3-of-3 shots for six points and had two steals in the first 20 minutes.

The second half provided much of the same for the Sun Devils who scored the first four points of the half and never allowed the Crusaders to get closer than 13 points. Boardman knocked down 5-of-6 shots for 11 of her 16 points in the second half to help ASU to the 81-56 victory.

Boardman led all scorers with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting and added five assists. Buckner and sophomore forward Kristen Kovesdy each turned 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds, while junior guard Kylan Loney tied her career high with eight assists.

For Holy Cross, Maggie Fontana led the team with 13 points, while Brittany Keil paced the Crusader effort with six rebounds.

Arizona State next takes six days off for the holidays before returning home to Wells Fargo Arena to open the Pac-10 Conference season, taking on Washington State on Dec. 27 and Washington on Dec. 29. All of ASU's games can be heard locally on NBC 1190 AM or on the internet at www.thesundevils.com.
