TUCSON, Ariz. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- The University of Arizona redeemed itself from a five-game loss at Arizona State last month with a three-game sweep over the rival Sun Devils on Saturday night in Pac-10 Volleyball action at McKale Center. Game scores were 30-17, 30-26, 30-25 in favor of the Wildcats.
The Devils had their brief two-match winning streak come to an end, falling to 8-11 overall and 3-7 in conference action.
The Devils were led by the 12 kills from senior outside hitter Juliana Escobar (Brasilia, Brazil). Redshirt junior Natalie Harris (Tempe, Ariz.) also added eight kills in the loss.
The Wildcats received 18 kills on an efficient .343 hitting percentage from sophomore All-American Kim Glass. Sophomore middle blocker Bre Ladd also added 10 kills ona .471 attack percentage to help lead the Wildcats to the victory
ASU returns to action next weekend with a pair of road matches against nationally ranked opponents at No. 6 Stanford (Oct. 31, 7 p.m.) and at No. 7 California (Nov. 1, 7 p.m.). Friday's Stanford match will be televised on a tape-delay basis on Fox Sports Net.
