STANFORD, Calif. - The Arizona State women's golf team completed the first day of competition at the Stanford/Pepsi Intercollegiate tied for 13th-place after shooting a 16-over 304. Freshman Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) is the top Sun Devil through round one after carding a one-over par 73 on the 6,168-yard Stanford Golf Course. She is tied for 29th.
Tied for 55th are both sophomore Sara Jones (Valencia, Calif.) and junior Erin Tone (Gilbert, Ariz.), who both shot four-over on day one. Sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) and junior Josefin Gustafsson (Falkoping, Sweden) sit in 76th at seven-over and round out the Sun Devils squad of five. Junior Jamie Michaud (University Place, Wash.) is competing as an individual and carded a five-over 77.
Washington leads the team standings through round one with a combined eight-under 280. Pepperdine's Carolina Llano is the individual leader at five-under.
