TEMPE, Ariz. - Freshman Courtney Crane tallied a pair of goals as 14th-ranked Arizona State (2-0) routed Bowling Green (0-1), 5-1, Saturday night In Honolulu, Hawaii at the OHANA Hotel and Resorts No Ka Oi Tournament. The Sun Devils out shot the Falcons 22-3, as ASU played strong defense allowing only one shot in the second half of action.

ASU staked to a 3-0 lead in the first half with goals coming from three different players. The Devils quickly claimed the lead in the fifth minute of play when sophomore Brittany Cooper scored off a direct kick from 25 yards out. In the 25th minute, senior and preseason All-American Amy LePeilbet netted her first goal of the season when she took a corner kick from Cooper and headed into the right side pass the BG goalkeeper. Just nine minutes later in the 34th minute, Crane posted the first of her two goals when she took a cross from fellow freshman Levise Robertson and deposited the ball with her left foot into the net.

Bowling Green tallied their sole goal at the start of the second half in the 48th minute when Ashley Wentzel found Kristy Coppes. Sophomore Hilary Wilson, who started the second half in goal for ASU, allowed the goal to slide by her. The Devils answered in the 66th minute when sophomore Manya Makoski recorded her first goal of the year as she got the ball pass the BG defense and scored into the top left ninety. Crane then added ASU's fifth goal and her second of the night in the 83rd minute when she headed the ball into the net off of a double assist from Elizabeth Bogus and Haley Stein.

The Devils also recorded eight corner kicks to Bowling Green's two. Kelly Fitzgerald started the first half in goal for ASU, making one save.

Up next, the competition will get dramatically better as Arizona State will head to South Bend to take on sixth-ranked Notre Dame on Friday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m.
