TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior Amanda Lyon (Fr., Phoenix, Ariz.) also competed in the 5,000m open division race, finishing in 16th as well.
Aguilera clocked a 15:53.28 to improve her personal best time by nearly two seconds to rewrite the record books at ASU in the event. The record was held by former Sun Devil standout Kelly MacDonald who established the mark in 2000 at the same event. Lyon, running in the 5,000m event for the first time this year, turned in a 16:51.30 to also place 16th.
Action at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational continues Friday and Saturday.
