TEMPE, Ariz. - The No. 19 Arizona State water polo team battled through a driving rain storm at the Lancer Aquatic Center in Riverside, Calif., Saturday to hand Cal State Bakersfield an 8-5 setback in the first of two games on the day for the Sun Devils in the Cal Baptist Lancer Invitational. Katie Davis (Jr., Riverside, Calif.) and Gili Kollan (So., Kiriat Bialik, Israel) each scored twice in the win that pushed ASU's record win streak to six in a row and its 2003 season record to 12-7.

The Sun Devils jumped out to an early lead with three goals in the first quarter before building a 6-4 halftime lead. The scoring ended for both teams in the third quarter with the Roadrunners netting one score and the Sun Devils putting two in the back of the CSUB goal.

Elaine Bentley (Fr., San Diego, Calif.), Bryn Kuech (So., Bonsall, Calif.), Daya Mau (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii) and Tessa Wyborny (Fr., Walnut Creek, Calif.) each added a goal in the victory for the Sun Devils. Kollan's tallies extended her current scoring streak to seven games in a row.

Arizona State returns to action Tuesday, March 18, when No. 13 Indiana pays a visit to Tempe for a 4 p.m. contest at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.
