TEMPE, Ariz. - For the third game in a row, the No. 20 Arizona State water polo team found themselves on the short end of the scoreboard, this time falling to Cal Baptist, 5-4, at the UC San Diego Arena Invitational. Tessa Wyborny (Fr., Walnut Creek, Calif.) scored twice in the game, but it was not enough as the Sun Devils slipped to 3-4 on the year.

Both teams scored twice in the first period with CBU taking the advantage before halftime with its third score of the game. Neither team was able to find the back of the cage in the third stanza, setting up the fourth quarter with the Sun Devils trailing, 3-2.

In the final period, each team tallied twice to move the final to 5-4 in favor of Cal Baptist. Bryn Kuech (So., Bonsal, Calif.) and Gili Kollan (So., Kiriat Bialik, Israel) scored the other two goals for the Sun Devils in the loss. Lizzie Houck (Fr., San Diego, Calif.) made seven saves to keep ASU in the game.

The Sun Devils hit the road again next weekend with a trip to New Jersey and the Princeton Invitational, Feb. 14-15.
