ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Arizona State women's golf team moved up four spots to ninth after the second round of action at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational, being held Sept. 26-28 at the par 73, 6,069-yard University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course.

The Sun Devils turned in their best round of the season, carding a 12-over 304 in the second round, and are in ninth place with a two-day total of 621 heading into Saturday's final round. Tournament host New Mexico continues to lead the tournament with a two-round total of five over 589 and holds an eight-stroke advantage over Washington and Oklahoma (597). Rounding out the top five after one round are New Mexico State (600) and Pepperdine (601).

For the Sun Devils, freshman Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) leads the team and is tied for 23rd at seven-over 153 (74-79). Senior Melanie Hunt (Phoenix, Ariz.) turned in a four-over 77 for the second consecutive round and is tied for 25th (77-77/154), while senior Blair O'Neal (Tempe, Ariz.) jumped from 80th to a tie for 31st after carding a one-under par 72 on Friday (83-72=155).

Sophomore Josefin Gustafsson (Falkoping, Sweden) is tied for 58th after a second-round 76 (83-76=159), and freshman Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) shot a 10-over 83 on Friday and is tied for 94th (87-83=170). Sophomore Erin Tone (Gilbert, Ariz.), who is playing as an individual, is tied for 96th after carding an 87 in the second round (85-87=172).

Individually, Oklahoma's Lisa Meldrum is leading the tournament heading into the final round after carding a pair of three-under 70s in the first two days (140).

The Comcast Dick McGuire Invitational concludes Saturday afternoon.
