CORVALLIS, Ore. - Sun Devil pitchers Erica Beach and Kirsten Voak combined on a five hit shutout, while Kara Brun hit a three-run home run to carry the sixth-ranked Arizona State softball team (35-10, 5-3 Pac-10) to a 6-0 shutout over 14th-ranked Oregon State (32-12, 5-3 Pac-10) today in Corvallis.

The Sun Devils opened the game with one run off one OSU error in the top of the first. Missy Hixon opened with a single and was then sacrificed over to second by Kristen Farber, but the OSU first baseman's throw was wide to second base as both runners were called safe. After Farber was moved to third, Phelan Wright singled up the middle to score Farber.

ASU would tag four more runs on in the second, three by way of a Kara Brun three-run homer. OSU's Crystal Draper started the game and lasted only one and one third inning before Kristen Hunter came in. With Kirsten Voak on third, Farber hit an infield single to second base to score Voak. Brun then stepped in a drilled her sixth home run of the year over the left field fence to up the lead to 5-0.

ASU ended the game with one more run in the seventh off four more hits. Brun opened with a double to center, followed by a Beach single. Voak then single to left, driving in the final run.

Beach (22-7) started the game, going five and two-thirds with five hits and five strikeouts. Voak faced one batter in the sixth for the final out and then struck out the side in the seventh for the combined shutout.

Up next, Arizona State continues on the road as they travel to Berkeley to face the Golden Bears of California on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
