TEMPE, Ariz. - The top-ranked Stanford soccer team (17-1; 8-0 Pac-10) scored one goal in each half and limited Arizona State (11-5-2; 4-4 Pac-10) to five shots to post a 2-0 victory Friday in Stanford.
Stanford scored their first goal in the 36th minute as Hunt headed in a corner kick from Marcie Ward. In the 62nd minute, Ward tallied the second goal when she shot the ball off ASU goalkeeper Kelly Fitzgerald's hands from eight yards out.
The Sun Devils Fitzgerald collected seven saves, while five different ASU players tallied the five shots.
Up next, Arizona State will end its regular season on Sunday at California with a scheduled 11:30 a.m. (Pacific) kick.
