PULLMAN, Wash. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Washington State senior outside hitter Adrian Hankoff had 15 kills as the 19th-ranked Cougars swept the visiting No. 24 Arizona State Sun Devils 3-0 in Pac-10 Volleyball action Friday night in Bohler Gym. Game scores were 30-17, 30-19, 30-23 in favor of the Cougars.

The loss ended ASU's three-match winning streak, dropping the Sun Devils to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in Pac-10 play. The Devils are now 3-2 against ranked opponents this year. After improving to 4-0 in five-game matches with a 3-2 victory over Washington last night, the Devils dropped to 2-2 in three-game matches.

Washington State improved to 12-2 overall and with the sweep of the two ranked Arizona schools are now 4-2 in conference play. ASU still leads the all-time series against the Cougars 18-16, but WSU has now won three straight vs. the Sun Devils.

Senior middle blocker Julia Leddy (Mesa, Ariz.) led the Sun Devils with 12 kills and hit .478 in the match. Junior outside hitter Juliana Escobar (Sobradinho DF, Brazil) was limited to only nine kills, the second time this season she has had less then 10 kills. Junior setter Cheryl Anglin (Queen Creek, Ariz.) led the Devils with 10 digs.

WSU senior outside hitter LaToya Harris (Portland, Ore.) became the third Cougar to join the 1,000-kill, 1,000-dig club for a career. Harris, who was benched in WSU's 3-2 win over Arizona Thursday night, recorded nine kills vs. the Sun Devils.

The Sun Devils suffered their worst two losses of the year in games one and two, falling 30-17 and 30-19 respectively. Tough Cougar serving and a .143 ASU hitting percentage put the Devils down 1-0. Escobar led the Sun Devils with five kills in game one. The Cougars continued their torrid hitting with a .382 mark in game two to back up their .389 in game one. The Cougs sealed the victory with a 30-23 win in game three.

ASU returns to action next weekend with home matches against No. 4 Stanford (Oct. 10; 7 p.m.) and California (Oct. 11; 7 p.m.). Both matches will be played at Wells Fargo Arena with Thursday's match against the nationally ranked Cardinal to air as the Pac-10/Fox Sports Net Match of the Week.
