ASU now leads the series at Autzen Stadium 7-6 with its last victory in Eugene came on Oct. 28, 1995 when the Devils beat the eventual Pac-10 champion Ducks 35-24. ASU's last win over the Ducks was in 1997 (52-31 win). Oregon had its 11-game winning streak (second longest in the nation) snapped with the loss today.
  • ASU Earns Big Win Over Ranked Opponent: The Devils snapped a 12-game losing streak against ranked opponents with the 45-42 win over the No. 6 Ducks. ASU's last win against a ranked opponent came against No. 10 Washington State (Nov. 1, 1997). • Another Big Comeback: Down 28-10 early in the third quarter, ASU outscored the Ducks 35-21 down the stretch to improve to 6-2 on the year and a perfect 3-0 on the season. ASU's 21-point adds to ASU's 22-poing comeback earlier this year at San Diego State (down 22-0 to start the game) and is the biggest comeback in a Pac-10 game since former Sun Devil All-American Jake Plummer helped the Devils comeback from a 28-7 deficit against UCLA (10/12/96) en route to a 42-34 win over the Bruins. ASU also overcame a 29-point deficit (down 35-6 in the third quarter) vs. USC on Nov. 4, 2000 to tie the game in regulation, but lost in double-overtime 44-38.
  • Walter Sets ASU Single-Game Passing Record: Sophomore QB Andrew Walter set the ASU and Pac-10 single-game passing record today with 536 yards on 31-of-53 passing to break the old record of 534 set by Paul Justin vs. Washington State in 1989. With four TD vs. the Ducks, he now has 17 TD passes this year , already the sixth most in a single-season. He now has three 400+ yard passing games this year, with 414 vs. Stanford and a previous career high 474 vs. North Carolina. For the season he now has 2,003 yards on 119 completions (16.83 average). He will crack the top five in single-season passing with 391 more passing yards to move past Todd Horns who had 2,394 in 1983.
  • Devils Set Team Passing Yardage Record: In addition to Walter's career day, Tim Parker's 23-yard pass on the fake punt late in the first half gave the Devils 559 total passing yards to break the ASU single-game and Autzen Stadium record. The previous school record was 534 yards by Justin vs. Washington State in 1989.
  • Devils Set Autzen Stadium Passing Record: The Sun Devils and Andrew Walter both set Autzen Stadium records today for passing yards in a single game. Walter's 536 yards and the team 559 yards both broke the old record (both the same) of 443 yards set by former Duck QB Bill Musgrave vs. San Diego State in 1990. Today's game in which ASU broke the record marked the 201st game at Autzen Stadium since the opening in 1967.

McDonald and quarterback Andrew Walter also connected on a 67-yard TD pass late in the third period. The TD reception was McDonald's ninth this year (6th place in ASU single-season history) and the 20th in his career (also sixth in ASU career record books). The 67-yard TD catch tied for his second longest catch of the year (72 vs. SDSU and 67 vs. Stanford) and is his sixth career reception over 60 yards. McDonald registered his 10th career 100-yard receiving game, second career 200-yard game (second only to 221 vs. Stanford earlier this year) and now has 21 straight games with at least one reception.

  • Spreading the Wealth to the Receivers: The Sun Devils and Andrew Walter (plus Tim Parker) used their full arsenal of wide receivers today with nine players catching at least one catch. Led by McDonald's 12 catches, the Devils tied a season high by having nine players catch at least one pass (also vs. Stanford 9/28). Hakim Hill, Daryl Lightfoot, Cornell Canidate, Shaun McDonald, Matt Miller, Mike Pinkard, Derek Hagan, Justin Taplin, Mike Talbot all caught passes today.
