WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Arizona State women's golf team stands in 18th place heading into the final round of the NCAA Fall Preview, being held Sun.-Tues., Sept. 15-17 at the Kampen Course of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The 54-hole event, which is being hosted by Purdue University, is the precursor to the 2003 NCAA Championships, which will be held at the par 72, 6,225-yard course May 20-23, 2003.

The Sun Devils, who are playing with two true freshmen and a sophomore in the lineup, carded a 27-over 322 on Monday, bettering their previous day's total by six strokes. ASU stands in 18th place with a two-round total of 637 heading into Tuesday's final round. Oklahoma State continues to lead the field with a two-day total of 18-over 594. Vanderbilt (595), Arizona (597), Duke (597) and Texas (598) round out the top five.

For the Sun Devils, junior Blair O'Neal (Tempe, Ariz.) continued to led the team, carding a four-over 76 on Monday and is tied for 18th with a two-round total of 150. Freshman Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) is tied for 69th at 160 (80-80), while senior Ga?lle Truet (New Caledonia) and sophomore Erin Tone (Gilbert, Ariz.) are both tied for 80th at 165 (87-78 and 84-87, respectively). Freshman Sara Jones (Valencia, Calif.) is tied for 83rd with a two-day total of 166 (84-82).

Individually, Auburn's Celeste Troche leads the field with a two-under par total of 142 (70-72) heading into the final day of play.
