LOS ANGELES -- Senior Jami Coughlin recorded her fifth double-double of the year with a match-high 13 kills and 16 digs, leading the Arizona State Sun Devil volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Indiana University Saturday morning at the Loyola Marymount Volleyball Classic. With the 30-27, 30-17, 30-20 win ASU is now 3-3 on the year with the Devils taking on tournament host Loyola Marymount tonight at 7 p.m. at Gersten Pavilion.
Coughlin (Glendale, Ariz.), who is only the eighth Sun Devil in school history to record over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career and has not had a match with less then double-digits in kills this year, continues to show leadership and poise as ASU's lone senior in 2001. Also contributing a solid match to help lead the Devils to victory was freshman Alicia Akporiaye (Tucson), who tallied eight kills and 12 digs. Junior setter Fernanda Habiger recorded a career-high 15 assists and three total blocks off the bench in the victory.
