TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State softball pitcher Kirsten Voak threw a perfect game against Utah State (1-1) as the sixth-ranked Sun Devils (2-0) shutout the Aggies, 10-0 in the first game of the Fiesta Bowl Tournament held at Rose Mofford Sports Complex.

Voak, a junior and two-time All-American from Fremont, Calif., fired five innings of perfect ball, striking out nine batters. This is Voak's fourth career no-hitter and first perfect game.

Voak had plenty of help offensively as ASU scored four in the first and three in the second to put the game out of reach.

Sophomore Kara Brun led ASU, going 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Missy Hixon and Kristin Farber also had two hits.

In the second game against 18th-ranked South Carolina (4-2), junior Erica Beach picked up her first win as she limited the Gamecocks to one earned run. Beach struck out four and also got hit and an RBI.

Nichole Thompson provided a bulk of the offense, going 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, while Brun continued her torrid pace with a 2-for-4 game with another double, a run and three RBIs.

Shiloh Talanoa chipped in with a 3-for-4 game with a run and an RBI. In all, seven Sun Devils had at least one hit and five players with at least one RBI.

Up next, ASU will take on Georgia at 3:30 p.m. and Texas at 5:30 p.m. Both games will be played on Campus at ASU's Farrington Stadium.
