TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Anthony Jones scored a career-high 30 points and spurred a big second-half rally to lead the Ohio Bobcats to a 75-71 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in the first round of Arizona State's four-team Holiday Classic Friday night.
The Bobcats (5-4) will face Pepperdine - an 81-70 winner over Charlotte in the other game - for the championship Saturday night.
Jones followed a 3-pointer by teammate Jon Sanderson with one of his own with 3:34 remaining to give the Bobcats their first lead of the game at 67-65. Arizona State (7-3) never regained the lead.
Brandon Hunter added 17 points for Ohio. Awvee Storey scored 18 and Alton Mason had 17 for the Sun Devils.
Arizona State established control early, scoring 18 of the game's first 22 points. By halftime, the Sun Devils led 38-24. Ohio committed 17 turnovers in the first half.
The Sun Devils stretched their lead to 16 points early in the second half before Ohio charged back into the game. Jones sealed the victory with two free throws with 36 seconds left.
