TEMPE, Ariz. - The fifth-ranked Arizona State softball team (32-5) defeated the University of Nevada Las Vegas Rebels (13-16), 3-1, this afternoon to finish out the sweep of the three-game series played at Farrington Stadium.

Arizona State pitcher Kirsten Voak (21-2) finished all seven innings of the game, allowing four hits and striking out 12 batters. The 12 strikeouts not only give Voak her 14th career double-digit game, but also 181 strikeouts on the season. Voak also went 1-for-2 at the plate. Additionally, the win is Voak's 45 career, good for seventh all-time in ASU's history.

ASU center fielder Nichole Thompson led the team at the plate going 2-for-3, with two runs and one RBI. Thompson scored once in the fourth and again in the sixth, both by an Erica Beach single. Beach's two RBI's for the game increased her total to 39, tying her mark for last year. Right fielder Jamie Hlebechuk went 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

UNLV's Nicole Truax (7-9) pitched her third game of the weekend, allowing six hits. The Rebels' scored their lone run on a home run hit by Racheal Goodpaster to start the second inning.

The Devils are in action again next weekend at Farrington Stadium when then open Pac-10 play Friday, March 31 against Oregon State at 6 p.m. and Oregon on Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. and 1p.m. respectively.
