TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State sophomore Theresa Jantzen (Medicine Hat. Alberta) scored 15 points as the Arizona State women's basketball team fell to Oregon 67-56 Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena. For ASU, the loss was the team's fourth in a row, tying the longest losing streak of the year, and dropped the team to 13-12 overall and 6-9 in the Pac-10. Oregon improved to 21-7 overall and 12-4 in the conference.

Arizona State took a slim advantage early in the game, leading by as many as five points when senior Kristine Sand (Oslo, Norway) made a layup with 9:20 to play in the first half. The next nine minutes would see four lead changes and six ties, while the Sun Devils closed out the half by hitting four free throws to take a narrow 32-29 advantage into the locker room. Jantzen had 13 of her 15 points in the first half, while Arizona State outrebounded Oregon 18-10.

In the second half, however, the Ducks turned the game around, erasing a six-point ASU lead with a 12-5 run to make it 41-40 with 10:54 minutes remaining. The Ducks would never relinquish their lead after that, going ahead by as many as 13 points before earning the 56-67 victory.

Oregon sophomore Shaquala Williams scored all of her game-high 19 points in the second half, while the Ducks forced 15 Sun Devil turnovers and had nine steals in the second half. Oregon also outshot Arizona State 65 percent (13-20) to 30.8 percent (8-26) in the second half en route to the victory.

For Arizona State, Sand was the only other Sun Devil to reach double figures, scoring 11 points including a pair of three-pointers. Senior Rachel Holt (Buckeye, Ariz.) grabbed a squad-high five rebounds for Arizona State, which finished with a 33-24 advantage on the boards in just the third home loss of the year for the Sun Devils.

Four Oregon Ducks finished in double figures, led by Williams' 19 points. Junior Dion Lindsey scored 14 points and had five steals, junior Angelina Wolvert had 12 points and a game-high six rebounds and junior Brianne Meharry chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

The Sun Devils return to action Saturday for "Senior Night," playing host to the Oregon State Beavers at Wells Fargo Arena in their final regular-season home game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Mountain time and can be heard on KTKP 1280 AM with Robby Robinson and Jennifer Adams calling the action.
