TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's gymnastics team posted a come-from behind victory Friday night in Wells Fargo Arena, defeating Oregon State 195.300-194.300 to extend its regular season home winning streak to 17 meets. ASU established a new season-best team score and also posted highs for the year in three events.
The 18th-ranked Sun Devils (7-1) trailed OSU by two-tenths of a point heading into the final rotation, but got a season-best floor exercise score of 49.175 to pull ahead.
Senior Elizabeth McNabb led the way on floor with her 9.925, while fellow All-American Kelly Christensen-Cowley scored a career-high 9.9 in the event.
Senior All-American Elizabeth Reid, who recorded a 9.85 mark on the floor, took top honors in uneven bar competition at 9.925. ASU's Kim Skinner and Margaret Wojciak tied for second place on the bars as part of the Devils' season-high 49.250 team mark.
On the balance beam, sophomore Lea Carver (ranked #12 nationally in the exercise) led all competitors with her 9.925 mark. Arizona State also established a new season best on vault (48.325) to open the Pac-10 dual meet, however first place in the event went to the Beavers' Lara Degenhardt at 9.825.
Oregon State freshman Tanya Ricioli won the all-around competition at 39.000 as part of OSU's season-high team mark.
ASU hits the road for a tri-meet against Washington and Seattle Pacific on Sunday, Feb. 13 beginning at 2:00 PST at UW's Pavilion Addition.
