LOS ANGELES -- Tiffany Elmore added 16 points to lead five USC players in double figures, as the Women of Troy won their third-straight by defeating Arizona State, 76-70, in front of 641 at the USC Lyon Center.

The Trojans improve to 11-11 overall and 6-6 in the Pac-10, while the Sun Devils fall to 13-10, and 6-7 in conference play.

Elmore, Erica Mashia (14 points), Tashara Carter (13) and Camille Norwood (10, season-high) all shot above 50 percent from the field, while forward Tiffany Washington also contributed 10 points and led with seven boards. The Trojans were nearly perfect from the line (19-of-21) and posted only 15 turnovers in the game - both season-best performances.

Arizona State was equally effective at the free throw line, missing only one shot (26-of-27) in the game. The Sun Devils committed 27 turnovers, despite out-rebounding (33 to 24) and out-shooting (50 to 42 percent) the Women of Troy. Center Rachel Holt led the team with 14 points. Theresa Jantzen added 12, while Kitch Kitchen and Natalie Tucker each contributed 13.

Arizona State led by as many as 10 points (18-8) early in the first half, and maintained in control through the first 15 minutes. With 4:22 remaining, Mashia hit a key three-pointer giving the Trojans their first lead of the game (25-24) as they eventually entered halftime with a 34-32 advantage. The two teams alternated with the lead for the first nine minutes of the second period, until a layup by Washington at 10:29 embarked a USC 13-2 run which included three ASU turnovers. The Sun Devils were twice able to come within two points late in the game, but the Trojans' consistency at the line sealed the 76-70 victory.

"I thought this would be the toughest game we would have to play this year because Arizona State plays the same style of defense, and I was right," said USC head coach Chris Gobrecht. "We played tough and I was pleased with the turnout. We are not a great rebounding team so we have to rely a lot on our ability to get the turnovers and play good defense."
