TEMPE, Ariz. - Outside hitter Jami Coughlin pounded out 16 kills as Arizona State defeated Oregon, 3-1 in Eugene, Ore. Game scores were 15-8, 7-15, 16-14, 15-1.
Four Sun Devils ended the night in double figures including Coughlin (16), Jamie Peck (13), Laura Hibsman (13) and Amanda Burbridge (11). Coughlin led the squad with 13 digs.
ASU won game one on a service ace by Coughlin. The Devils lost game two after the Ducks rolled off five straight points for the win. Arizona State won a seesaw battle in game three holding off two Oregon game points before tying the game on a kill by Burbridge. ASU sealed the win on a block by Lindsay Priest and Laura Hibsman. The Devils dominated game four hitting .429 as a team.
Oregon was led by Annie Pogue who hit a match-high 17 kills. Amy Banducci had 18 digs.
ASU improves to 13-11, 9-8 in conference action. The Devils end Pac-10 play against Oregon State on Friday night
