The Sun Devil men's team moved into sixth place after shooting a 10-under 278 in the second round. ASU heads into the final day with a two-round score of 563 (285-278), nine shots behind tournament leader Georgia Tech (281-273=554).
Individually, ASU freshman Miriam Nagl (73-76) and sophomore Caroline Laurens (74-75) are tied for 15th heading into the final day. Freshman Blair O'Neal (76-75) and junior Molly Cooper are in 18th place, while sophomore Lisa Meredith is tied for 32nd (76-78).
For the men, junior All-American Paul Casey jumped from 29th place to a tie for 11th after carding a five-under-par 67 in the second round (71-67=138), six shots behind tournament leader Erik Compton of Georgia (66-66=132). Junior Jin Park is tied for 19th (71-68), sophomore Matt Jones moved into a tie for 29th (72-70=142), junior Jeff Quinney is tied for 44th (71-73=144) and senior Jonas Runnquist stands in a tie for 71st (76-74=150).
The 54-hole tournament concludes on Sunday with the men playing at the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Dunes (par 72 - 6,651 yards) and the women at the Arthur Hills Golf Club at Palmetto Hall (par 72 - 6,257 yards).
