TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona's Marisa DaLee had 16 kills to lead No. 19 Arizona to a 3-1 win tonight over Arizona State in Wells Fargo Arena before a season-high crowd of 2,102. Game scores were 11-15, 5-15, 15-8, 5-15.
The Sun Devils were led by Amanda Burbridge who tallied a team-high 13 kills on the night. Senior Jamie Peck added 12 kills while sophomore Jami Coughlin had 11. Defensive specialist Darice Smith notched three service aces for ASU. Burbridge led the team with 11 digs. Peck had four blocks while senior Laura Hibsman added five on the evening.
Arizona State only managed a .132 hitting percentage to Arizona's .277. The Wildcats also outdug the Devils 60 to 46.
For Arizona, Marissa DaLee tallied a match-high 11 blocks. Defensive specialist Rachel Williams recorded a match-high 14 digs for the 'Cats followed by Jill Talbot's 13. Raelene Elam and Lisa Rutledge had 12 kills a piece to finish the match.
ASU (10-9, 6-6) hits the road next week to face Washington State on Friday, November 5 in Pullman, Wash. at 7 p.m. PST.
