Junior outside hitter Amanda Burbridge notched a team-high 17 kills, however it was not enough as 7th-ranked Stanford defeated Arizona State, 3-0 tonight in Palo Alto, Calif. Game scores were 15-4, 15-10, 15-6.

Senior Jamie Peck added 10 kills and seven digs for the Devils while sophomore Jami Coughlin tallied nine kills and a team-high 10 digs. Junior setter Becky Sidoti had 41 assists and six digs. The Sun Devils were outblocked three to 11 by the Cardinal and outhit .209 to .383.

For Stanford, freshman Logan Tom paced the Cardinal with 17 kills while senior middle blocker Kerri Walsh added 10 kills, 11 digs and seven block assists on the evening. Five Stanford players ended the night in double figures for kills.

The Sun Devils (9-5, 5-3 Pac-10) are next in action on Friday, October 15 at California in Berkeley, Calif. Game time is set for 8 p.m. in the newly renovated Haas Pavilion. The volleyball match will be the first athletic event since the renovation.
