TEMPE, Ariz. - UCLA outside hitter Ashley Bowles had a match-high 21 digs to lead the No. 10 Bruins to a 3-1 defeat over the Arizona State Sun Devils in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night. Games scores were 15-1, 15-10, 12-15, 15-7.
ASU's Jami Coughlin had a team-high 11 kills and 12 digs. While on the defensive side, the Devils were lead by outside hitter Amanda Burbridge and middle blocker Julia Leddy with six total blocks each.
The Bruins got off to a quick start, hitting .558 in the first game. They finished the match with a hitting percentage of .255. Ashley Bowles and Kristee Porter each contributed a match-high of 18 kills towards UCLA's total kills. Adding three serving aces to the statistics was Michelle Quon.
The Sun Devils return to action on Friday, October 1st taking on the U of A at 7:00 p.m. in Tuscon, Ariz. in McKale Center.
