TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's 16th- ranked women's cross country team continued to roll as they won the Roy Griak Invitational held at Les Bolstad Course in St. Paul, Minn. The Sun Devils impressive performance was good enough to knock off top-ranked Brigham Young, who finished second. ASU won the UC Irvine/Asics Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 11. Arizona State's men took eight place as fifth-ranked Wisconsin won the meet.
The Sun Devil women dominated the 5,000-meter race as the Sun Devil's placed three runners in the top ten. Sophomore Lisa Aguilera led ASU, finishing second in 17:32 behind Duke's Sheela Agrawal (17:31). Also scoring high for the Devils were juniors Kelly MacDonald (5th , 17:47) and Mary Duerbeck (6th , 17:53).
ASU's men were led by sophomore Fasil Bizuneh who finished eleventh in the invitational with a time of 24:46. Also giving the Sun Devils a good performance was Brandon Strong who finished 47th with a time of 25:33.
