TEMPE, Ariz. - Laura Hibsman led the Sun Devils with 14 kills and added two block solos and four block assists in ASU's 3-0 win over Oregon State. Game scores were 15-12, 15-13, 15-9. The Sun Devils are now 6-2 overall, 2-0 in Pac-10 play, while the Beavers are 5-4, 0-2.
ASU edged Oregon State in hitting percentage as the Sun Devils hit .223 to the Beavers' .208. The Sun Devils also served up a season-high nine service aces in the match. ASU was however, outblocked with only 11 total team blocks to Oregon State's 16.
Junior Amanda Burbridge tied Oregon State's Gina Schmidt for a match-high 17 kills. Burbridge also contributed four block assists and a block solo. Jami Coughlin had 12 kills and shared a match-high of 15 digs with teammate Ashley Hubbard. Hubbard also had three service aces in the match.
For the Beavers, Sarah Bjeldanes had 15 kills while Angie Shirley added 11 on the evening. Jessica Papell had 12 digs while Schmidt tallied 10.
ASU travel to Los Angeles next weekend to take on USC and UCLA. The Sun Devils face off against the Trojans Friday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. against the Bruins.
