Paced by Amanda Burbridge's 15 kills, the Arizona State volleyball team opened Pac-10 play with a decisive 3-0 win over Oregon tonight in the Wells Fargo Arena. Game scores were 15-2, 17-15, 15-1.

The Sun Devils hit an amazing .419 as a team for the match. That hitting percentage is the second highest in the conference this year. Oregon was held to a .096 hitting percentage for the match.

Sophomore Jami Coughlin added 11 kills for the Devils and hit .526 on the night. Freshman Julia Leddy notched 7 kills on 11 attempts for a .636 hitting percentage. Senior defensive specialist Darice Smith tallied a match-high three service aces for Arizona State.

For the Ducks, outside hitter Monique Tobbagi had 11 kills while Amy Banducci added nine on the evening. Oregon managed only 19 digs to ASU's 36 for the match.

The Sun Devils (5-2, 1-0) are back in action on Friday night in continued conference action, hosting Oregon State at Wells Fargo Arena at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis by FOX Sports Arizona on Monday, September 20 at 1 p.m.
