ASU Volleyball Wins Two At Georgia Tech Classic

ATLANTA - The Arizona State volleyball team won both its matches today at the Georgia Tech/Courtyard By Marriott Classic without dropping a single game. The Devils picked up 3-0 wins over South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Games scores were 16-14, 15-9, 15-6 and 15-5, 15-8, 15-8 respectively.

Sophomore Jami Coughlin paced the Devils with 19 kills against the Gamecocks while junior Amanda Burbridge added 11 kills on the morning. Setter Becky Sidoti led the team defensively with 18 digs. Freshman Julia Leddy hit 1.000 for the match pounding out seven kills with no errors. ASU hit a season-high .343 as team while holding South Carolina to a .130 hitting percentage.

Action concludes tomorrow as Arizona State will face ninth-ranked UC Santa Barbara at 9:30 a.m. EST and host Georgia Tech at 5 p.m. EST at O'Keefe Gymnasium in Atlanta, Ga. An all-tournament team and MVP will be selected at the conclusion of the tournament.
