Stacy Rouwenhorst paced Pepperdine with 15 kills to lead the 12th-ranked Waves to a 3-1 win over Arizona State this evening in Wells Fargo Arena. Game scores were 15-12, 15-2, 10-15, 15-2.

Outside hitter Amanda Burbridge notched a team-high 13 kills and 15 digs for the Devils while senior Jamie Peck added 10 kills and three block assists. ASU struggled offensively managing only a .064 hitting percentage for the match.

For the Waves, middle blocker Jamie Hill tallied 13 kills and a match-high seven blocks. Outside hitter Emily Rothman added 12 kills to the effort. Both Hill and Rouwenhorst hit over .400 for the match. As a team, Pepperdine hit .238 and had 71 digs.

The Waves outblocked the Devils 11 to five on the night.

Pepperdine (1-0) will take on Southwest Texas (1-0) on Saturday, September 4 at 1 p.m. in the Wells Fargo Arena as action continues in the Phoenix Airport Hilton/Sun Devil Challenge.

ASU (0-1) will face Southwest Texas on Sunday, September 5 at 1 p.m. to conclude the weekend.

Admission to the matches is free and open to the public.
