Men's Hoops Inks Two In Opening Days Of Spring Signing Period

April 15, 2010

Chanse Creekmur, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward from Marshalltown High in Iowa, and Brandon Dunson, a guard from Wabash Valley Community College in Illinois, have joined Herb Sendek's 2010 recruiting class, the 2010 Pac-10 Coach of the Year announced Thursday.

"We are thrilled to have Chanse and Brandon join our program," said Coach Sendek, who has led ASU to three straight 20-win seasons for first time since 1961-63. "Both are promising players and fine gentleman. Chanse is an outstanding long-range shooter and a solid all-around athlete. Brandon is a versatile athlete and a an excellent addition to our backcourt."

They join guards Keala King of Mater Dei High in Southern California, Corey Hawkins of Goodyear Estrella Foothills in Arizona, and 7-2 center Jordan Bachynski from Canada, who signed in the fall.

Creekmur, Marshalltown's career scoring leader and also the quarterback for the football team, averaged more than 20 points per game and was a first-team All-State selection. His AAU coach, Marquise Watts of NetGain Sports, coached current Sun Devil Trent Lockett, who earned Pac-10 All-Freshman honors this year.

Creekmur also has been known to jump over parked cars

The 6-2, 175-pound Dunson, the first junior college recruit for Herb Sendek at ASU, originally signed with Tennessee-Chattanooga but transferred to SIU-Edwardsville and then to Wabash Valley where he averaged 12 points, five assists, four boards and shot 45 percent from the three=point stripe.

At one point it was reported he had a 44-inch vertical leap, and by watching this video it is hard to question that.
