Brandon Thompson, a 6-2 guard from John Paul Stevens High School in San Antonio, has signed to play hoops at ASU. The San Antonio Express-News named him the area's Player of the Year as averaged 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.1 steals in his senior season. He shot 52 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from 3-point range.
"We are excited Brandon has joined our 2009 recruiting class," says ASU head coach Herb Sendek. "He is an outstanding shooter who had a terrific high school career."
Thompson, who averaged more than 27 points per game in the postseason, joins Victor Rudd in the spring signing period.
