ASU Golf Teams in Contention at Palmetto Dunes
TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State women's golf team shot a nine-over par 297 in the first round of the GOLF WORLD/Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, South Carolina to land in third place, only four strokes behind leader Stanford (293).
Leading the Devils individually is junior Keri Cornelius who is in a tie for third place after shooting a one-over par 73. Seniors Kellee Booth and Jeanne-Marie Busuttil are both tied for eighth after shooting rounds of two-over par. Freshman Grace Park and junior Tui Selvaratnam are both sitting tied for 25th after today's round of a four-over 76.
The men's golf team is also in Hilton Head and stands in sixth place after shooting a five-under par 283 today. The Devils are only four shots behind leader Clemson (279).
Leading the Devils individually is freshman Paul Casey who is tied for sixth after today's round of a four-under par 68. Junior Darren Angel and freshman Jeff Quinney are tied for 11th and 17th respectively after shooting respective scores of 69 and 70.
Second-round action continues tomorrow with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. from the first and 10th tees at the Palmetto Hall Golf Course.
