LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) - Eddie House scored 18 points in the first half and Bobby Lazor added 17 in the second as Arizona State beat Chaminade 78-64 Wednesday in the seventh-place game of the Maui Invitational.
Chaminade, the host team, wasted an eight-point second-half lead and has lost 18 consecutive games in the tournament. With the score tied at 55, Lazor made a pair of free throws and Kenny Crandall connected on a 3-pointer for Arizona State (2-3).
Chaminade (0-3) went scoreless during the next four minutes and the Sun Devils made 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch.
Arizona outrebounded the Silverswords 43-22, including 29-7 in the second half, with Lazor getting nine.
House scored 10 points in the first 12 minutes, but Timi Berkovitch made three 3-pointers and Derrick Tracy got a followup basket with 47 seconds left to give Chaminade a 32-30 halftime lead.
House finished with 26 points, and Lazor had 19 points and 14 rebounds. Marcus Murphy had 21 for Chaminade, making four 3-pointers, and Berkovitch scored 16.
