SOME THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ASU BASKETBALL FOR 2010-11
*The Sun Devils are only Pac-10 team with winning league road record in each of the past two seasons and to post 20 wins in each of past three seasons.

*Last year, ASU was winners of 20 games (22-10) in three straight seasons for the first time since JFK was President, made its third straight postseason appearance for the first time since the mid-1990s and finished second in the Pac-10 (12-6) for the first time since 1980-81. ASU was picked for seventh in the preseason media poll and tenth by Sporting News.

*ASU has three 20-win seasons under Herb Sendek in four years. How much has he changed the mindset in Tempe? It had three 20 win-seasons in the previous 25 seasons. The 2009-2010 season also was the first since 1994-95 (past 15 seasons) that ASU did not have a three-game losing streak.

*Herb Sendek became just the second Sun Devil to earn Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors in ASU's 32 years of Pac-10 play (Ned Wulk in 1979-80).

*ASU finished 7-2 in the second half of Pac-10 play.

*ASU is 32-22 (.593) in Pac-10 regular season games the past three seasons, tied for the second-best mark with Washington.

*After going 8-22 in Coach Sendek's first year (2006-2007), ASU is 68-34 (.667) and giving up just 60.7 ppg. in his 131 games.

QUICKLY ON TY'S ALL-PAC-10 FIRST-TEAM SELECTION
If you take a look at the overall Pac-10 statistics from last year, Ty Abbott's names doesn't pop up in bold letters. But that is because he got it done during league play. In the 18 league tilts, he finished ninth in the loop in scoring (14.7 ppg.), 11th in rebounding (5.7 per game), ninth in free throw percentage (.818 as he was 36-of-44), fourth in three-point percentage (.411 as he was 53-of-129), second in three-pointers made per game (2.9) and sixth in defensive rebounds per game (5.0). He also earned Pac-10 Player of the Week for the second time in his career after notching 17 points in each win as ASU swept the Washington duo on Jan. 8-10 in Tempe. And finally, you have to look far and wide for a player who improved more than him from one Pac-10 season to the next. In 2008-09 he shot 19-of-86 (.221) from the floor, 8-of-59 (.136) from the three-point stripe and averaged 2.9 points and 3.7 boards.
