Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University is a four-year selective residential college with more than 5,400 students. This year, nearly 40 Sun Devil student-athletes are enrolled in the honors college.
Having more National Merit Scholars than MIT, Duke, Brown, Stanford and the University of California, Berkeley, Barrett, recruits academically outstanding students from a wide variety of majors. Barrett offers a small college atmosphere and has a student-faculty ratio of twenty-five to one. Barrett students are given a complete residential college experience, while also having the advantages and amenities of a large Research I University.
In addition to the ASU General Education requirements, Barrett students also must fulfill their major requirements, as well as take additional honors courses and complete a thesis/creative project during their senior year. Barrett students benefit from and are supported by a $12 million dollar endowment that is used to fund honors students and their research projects. In order to graduate from Barrett, each student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and complete all honors contract requirements.
Students at Barrett participate in hundreds of internships with such companies and organizations as the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the Mayo Clinic, The White House, Congress, and Google. Barrett honors students are diverse, come from many different backgrounds, and have unique interests. Barrett students are well rounded and successful not only in academics, but also in life.
