TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State junior OF/LHP Matt Spencer has been named the Pac-10 Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It is the sixth time this season a Sun Devil has earned the weekly honor from the Pac-10.
Spencer, who was also named the NCBWA's National Hitter of the Week, went 9-12 (.750) on the weekend, with two home runs and seven RBI. The Morristown, Tenn. product had three RBI in a 16-14 come-from-behind win on Friday, hit two homers and had a walk-off RBI single in the 5-4 win on Saturday, and knocked in the tying run and scored the winning run in the 11-10 win on Sunday.
