Kuczka, Tavee in Top 10 Heading into Final Round at Pac-10s

SOMIS, Calif. - Sophomore Alissa Kuczka and freshman Tiffany Tavee are in the individual top 10 and the Arizona State women's golf team is sixth after the second round of competition at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships, being held Monday-Wednesday at the par 72, 6,405-yard Saticoy Country Club.

The Sun Devils fired a 22-over 310 on Tuesday and are in sixth place with a two-day total of 622 (312-310), three strokes behind fifth-place Washington (619). UCLA continues to lead the tournament heading into Wednesday's final round with a two-day total of 29-over 605 (308-297). USC jumped two positions to second position after and trail by nine strokes at 614 (312-302). Only one stroke behind the Trojans in a tie for third place at 615 are California (312-303) and Arizona (314-301).

Kuczka leads the Sun Devils individually after carding a one-over 73 in Tuesday's second round. She moved from ninth to sixth place with one round to play with a two-day total of five-over 149 (76-73). Joining Kuczka in the top 10 for the second consecutive day is freshman Tiffany Tavee who ended the day with a four-over 76 and currently sits in seventh place at six-over 150.

UCLA teammates Hannah Jun and Charlotte Mayorkas are in a tie for the individual lead at one-over 145 heading into the final day. Jun carded the low round of the day with a two-under 70, while Mayorkas also went under par with a one-under 71.

Other Sun Devil scores after the second round of play include junior Erin Tone who is tied for 27th at 160 (83-77), while freshman Charmaine Erasmus is tied for 38th with a two-day total of 163 (79-84), Rounding out the ASU lineup is freshman Lindsay Anderson who is in 52nd place at 172 (86-86).

Arizona State will begin the final round of play at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time and will play with California and USC. Live scoring throughout the second round will be available at www.golfstatlive.com.
