WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State sophomore golfer Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) and freshman golfer Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) each earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors, conference Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today. The duo are the Sun Devils' leaders in stroke average for the season and each earned a top-five finish at the Pac-10 Championships that wrapped up on Wednesday.
At the Conference Championships, Kuczka carded a final-round 75 with a three-day total of 224 (76-73-75) to earn fourth place, while Tavee tied for fifth with nine-over total of 225 (74-76-75). It marked the first time that two Sun Devils earned top-five finishes at the Pac-10 Championships since 1998 when Kellee Booth took fourth and Grace Park and Jeanne-Marie Busuttil tied for fifth.
The Arizona State women's golf team now will await selection to one of the three NCAA Regionals (East, West and Central). A total of 63 teams will qualify for regionals with the top eight teams in each region advancing to the NCAA Championships hosted by Auburn, May 18-21 at the Grand National Lake Course in Opelika, Ala.
