In Memory Pat Tillman

Marlies, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
All of my thoughts will go out to the family and friends of Pat. It was on the news even here, on the other side of the world... I wish you all the best in this hard time...

Cyndi Garcia-Kirby
I knew Pat during a time in his life that he was going to ASU. Sometimes I would eat lunch with him at the snack bar. I worked for Stadium Management so I ran into him often. He helped me with an April's fool joke on a co worker and his wit was his smile.

He was and will always be a piece of my heart. I hope to be at the game when they retire his number.

Sincerely,

Cyndi Garcia Kirby

I have all sorts of emotions that have been running through me once I heard of Pat's death. To his family---I'm so sorry! I work at a federal prison here in Kentucky---I'll be having Mass there in a couple of hours from now---Pat and his family will be remembered.

I'm so very sorry this had to happen and I'm so very proud of his courage and love for humankind.

I have loved Sun Devil football since I was a little boy. I am from Mesa AZ and ever since I really understood the game, Pat was always my favorite player.September 11th was a crucial turning point in my decision to join the Air Force and it made me that much more comfortable about my decision when Pat joined the Army. His actions are a true example of one of the Air Forces core values, Service before self. From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry for your loss and I will always remember Pat as a true American Hero.

Lord thank you for blessing this wonderful country with courageous and proud young men like Pat. He is a true hero, as are all the men and women that defend our country and our honor. Please bless these brave soldiers with peace of mind and help them to know how much they are needed and appreciated. Please help our country to realize the value of what these people are over there doing and what they are providing for us - our very existance. Thank you God for Pat Tillman.

I was introduced to Pat once on the ASU campus. He presented himself to me with a big smile, was friendly as well as outgoing. He was a courageous young man to follow in what he believed in. He will always be remembered. My thoughts and prayers are extended to family and friends of Pat Tillman.

One of my fondest memories of going to football games at ASU was after the 1996 victory against Cal that wrapped up the Rose Bowl. Most fans stayed in the stadium while the invitation to the Rose Bowl was made in the locker room. When the locker room scene showed up on the jumbo-tron, the first image was of Pat drenched in sweat, without his pads or jersey on. The crowd reaction was of genuine affection for someone that played with such passion and worked so hard for the success the '96 team achieved. Even though most of the fans didn't know Pat personally, they could recognize his great qualities.

Prayers to the Tillman family and love ones. He is a strong person to do what he did. My family being associated with the military and in sports, both seperate societies from the public, I admire what he did stepping away from sports to serve the United States. He shows that there are great people on this earth.
