Arizona State's Ike Diogu, who already has earned second-team All-American by the United States Basketball Writers Association, also has earned the same honor by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Diogu, the 2005 Pac-10 Player of the Year, leads the Pac-10 in scoring (22.4 ppg.), rebounding (9.7 rpg.) and blocks per game (2.32). He has played 13 40-minute games on the year and has scored in double digits in all 90 games of his career. He has made 240 free throws on the year, just three short of his Pac-10 record of 243 set last year.
Named to the NABC first team were Andrew Bogut, Utah; Chris Paul, Wake Forest; Hakim Warrk, Syracuse; J. J. Redick, Duke; and Wayne Simien, Kansas.
Selected to the second team were Diogu; Luther Head, Deron Williams and Dee Brown, Illinois; and Francisco Garcia, Louisville.
Third-team NABC picks were Joey Graham, Oklahoma State; Salim Stoudamire, Arizona; Rashad McCants, North Carolina; Nate Robinson, Washington; and Craig Smith, Boston College.
